The Tale Of Hope And Discovery: From Vienna To The Unknown

 'The Star Of Kazan', a book written by Eva Ibbotson, is a wonderfully woven historical novel that explores the themes of mystery, adventure, love and loyalty. Set in Vienna, during the 20th century, this story is about Annika, an orphan who is raised by two servants, Ellie and Sigrid. Annika loves her life and the people who genuinely care for her, even though she doesn’t have a biological family. But this never stopped her from dreaming about her mother, and when she would come to take Annika away. Suddenly, an aristocratic woman arrives, claiming to be Annika’s long-lost mother. Annika’s world changes into one with nobility and grandeur. She realises that a true family is defined by the bonds of care, rather than mere blood relations. 



Strengths of the novel:-


Impactful Character Development: The novel includes a wide variety of characters, coming from various backgrounds and most importantly, these characters support and help shape Annika’s character as a kind and intelligent protagonist. Even her mother, Frau von Tannenberg, who plays the role of an antagonist, adds layers of thrill and suspense to the novel. Annika’s close friends, Stefan and Pauline, show the unwavering royalty and demonstrate the true importance of friendship. 


Detailed Description Of Setting: The author paints a stunning picture of Vienna, by describing the elegant mansion Annika is forced to live in and the warm home Annika leaves behind, which plays a major role in defining Annika’s journey throughout. The contrast between these two worlds helps in highlighting the themes of the novel. 


Suspenseful Plot: Throughout the novel, there are twists and turns, filled with mystery and unexpected moves. The readers are engaged as they are interested in Annika’s fate, which helps keep up the theme of suspense.

Out And About In Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh 28th May 2025 Dear Me, On the 28th of May, me and my family went to visit Ayodhya. The day before,we had stayed together at my mom’s cousin's place,as she had come over from the US. On the 28th we had breakfast and left immediately to the Airport ,where we boarded the flight at 2 pm. It felt as though we were walking across a mall,and not even a single break we took. Our legs burned from walking and we finally reached our terminal,where we boarded the bus,to reach the flight. It was very humid.
