GT VS SRH
GT’s valorous victory over SRH:The Titans win by 32
runs
The eager SRH fans, who waited anxiously to see their team have an impactful comeback like I did, were all in vain as GT overpowered the match and left everyone in awe.
The format: GT and its commanding top-order
SRH won the toss and chose to field first. This was a major mishap, for the SRH team, as they had to score 225
runs to win the match. If SRH would have chosen to bat first, there still would’ve been chances for SRH to win
the match.
The first wicket partnership (between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan) was a great start for GT as the openers
ruled the powerplay of six overs entirely with their back-to-back sixes. SRH first began their fielding by opting
for pace bowlers, during the powerplay (the major issue they committed). All the bowlers, mainly Mohammad
Shami and Harshal Patel were struggling severely to take wickets. When Shami bowled, Cummins was very
close to taking the first wicket, but he dropped the catch. The first wicket was Sai Sudharsan, at 83 runs.
Later, Shubman Gill, who managed to score 76 runs, got run out by Harshal Patel. Buttler and Washington
Sundar also managed to score multiple runs before they each got out. Later, as SRH bright in their spin bowlers,
wickets were immediately being brought down.
SRH and their inadequate innings
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were the openers for the SRH team. They used the powerplay pattern to their
advantage by managing to squeeze in a couple of boundaries in between the dot balls. The SRH fielding was
below average, as they dropped multiple catches, which were major wickets and could have helped them secure
a comfortable win. Meanwhile, GT’s fielding was top notch. They stopped many boundaries with difficulties and
made the SRH team’s win pretty complex. Travis head got out while attempting to hit a six, but the ball did not
reach the boundary. The next wicket was Ishan Kishan, who got out after hitting 13 runs. Klaasen also managed
to hit 23 runs, and Aniket Verma hit 3 runs. The pressure was starting to build up, as wickets were being lost
nonstop by the SRH team. The captain, Pat Cummins and Nitish Kumar Reddy hit 40 runs altogether, and the
balls were not sufficient to reach their target.
Lessons learnt
Everyone has a scope of improvement in themselves, and this applies to the SRH team as well.
Let’s keep the spirit of the game alive, by changing our ways of working!
